The Villa On The Bay

The pool was great, and there are places to sit around the garden and enjoy both sunrise and sunset. Normand and Louise were wonderful hosts, with plenty of knowledge about the area and its roads. We loved how quiet the Inn on the Bay was, away from the marina noise, while still just five minutes from the bay and its restaurants. It sits in a beautiful spot looking out over two bays. Normand suggested our two favorite outings: I loved beach hopping and the fantastic snorkeling, while my husband preferred the drive to Pigeon Island and its beautiful scenery.

We spent seven days at the Inn on the Bay for our honeymoon over Christmas, and Hubert and Karla made the whole stay so easy. They helped arrange our daily outings, booked cabs and tours, and even drove us down for dinner. The room was spotless, thanks to Rose, and had a spectacular view of the bay. We also loved the tasty breakfast spread each morning by the pool. This is a very different kind of stay from an all inclusive, and we were very happy with it.

The hosts are what make the Inn on the Bay stand out. Each morning we'd talk with Normand and Louise about our plans, and they shared suggestions for places to see. They also give guests a cellphone for questions or help around the island. Louise baked something fresh daily, and her cheese muffin was so good she gave us the recipe. Sharing stories about the island and our lives made the trip feel richer. The bay view is a pleasure to wake up to, and the pool overlooking it is a relaxing spot. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with free WiFi. Marigot Bay worked well as a base: Soufriere is about an hour north by car, and Castries is 25 minutes south. If you're not driving, Normand can arrange water taxis. We had a great week and highly recommend the hotel.

We stayed in rooms 3 and 4 during our ten glorious days at the Inn on the Bay in St.Lucia, and either room would be a good choice. The website photos show the real views. From the deck you can watch the sunset, while sunrise is visible from the other side of the inn. We even snorkeled right below the property. There are lots of steps down, but we thought it was worth the walk. Louise puts out fresh baked goods and a good selection of fruit each morning, and Normand was helpful with day trips, dinner bookings, and advice. We'll be back, and we'd recommend Normand and Louise's Inn on The Bay.
