The view is lovely, and I like that everything is automated. You use your phone for the lifts, room access, and the rest.

Ruuf is one of the region's culinary gems. Its menu follows a no-meat, no-waste idea and changes weekly based on what's ripe in the kitchen garden. Breakfast follows the same approach, with a modest spread of high-quality local produce. Coffee is made to order by a witty, personable, proactive team. The location is less isolated than it looks: a 10-minute downhill walk gets you to Schaan's restaurants, amenities, and public transport, while a 10-minute uphill walk takes you to paved woodland trails with full services. Most guests seem to be tradespeople working locally. This is a budget hotel, but hygiene, sleep quality, the shower, and breakfast are all at a very high standard. The single bare bulb makes the room gloomy after dark, while the public areas are always cheerful and welcoming. There's no reception, so everything is done online or at a self-service terminal. Online check-in worked without a problem, and you can go straight from the entrance to your room using your phone as the key. On the first floor, there's a "Raum für alle Fälle" with supplies and sundries that guests can access with their key.
There's a great view from the window, and the rooms are clean and very warm. I appreciated how quiet it was and had no trouble with digital check-in, though you do need a card to use the elevator. The beds are large and comfortable, with plenty of room for up to four people. I did miss having tea or coffee in the room, since there's no way to heat water.
On our last morning, we were really disappointed by breakfast at Kloster. Nobody was there to serve it, and only leftover bread and a little fruit from the day before remained. There aren't restaurants nearby, so without a bike or car guests depend quite a bit on the hotel's breakfast. Someone called the help line and was told we could eat yesterday's leftovers at a reduced breakfast rate. I found it appalling that anyone could have said that. The daily cleaner also didn't do a very good job in our room, leaving dirty coffee cups out and failing to replace the toilet paper and water. The room felt hot, and there were no fans. We wanted to sleep with the windows open, but, as another review mentioned, the church bells ring loudly for five full minutes at 5 am. I'm a light sleeper and slept through the first couple of minutes, but a five-minute alarm made it hard to stay comfortably asleep. We didn't have a good stay. There was no host or greeter, and check-in and room access card activation were handled by computer. If you enter any information incorrectly, checking in is difficult when there's nobody around to help.
I've stayed with b_smart regularly and really like the concept: check-in is easy, prices are reasonable, and the accommodation is generally comfortable. This hotel sits above the city, has nice views, and offers on-site parking. The rooms are basic but have enough for an overnight stay. Breakfast is simple, with enough local, healthy food to fill up. I do wish the rooms had air conditioning. My west-facing room got extremely hot during a very warm day, and I had a hard time sleeping. Even leaving the door open to the hallway didn't help.
