The staff were so friendly and helpful, even arranging bike rentals and other services for us. The location worked perfectly, with Ahangama Beach a short walk away and Galle Fort and other attractions easy to reach. Headman House Antique Villa felt like a home away from home. Its old architecture is beautifully preserved but there are modern comforts like air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. Our room was clean and spacious, with a lovely balcony looking over the peaceful garden. Highly recommended!

The owner was flexible and easy to deal with, and helped us with directions to the property and information on nearby places to visit. We spent a long weekend at HHV recently and really enjoyed it. The place is close to all the area’s hotspots, and you can tell the owner cares about its history. The rooms are really spacious, and the living area was a great place to spend the holiday safely with a loved one. Definitely recommend it.

I’m sorry to have to leave this review, but the service was very bad. I’d reserved the house for myself and 10 friends, and we’d booked with the owner in advance. On check-in day, the previous guests refused to leave because they wanted to extend their stay. The host had double-booked the property, and eventually suggested that we sleep together with the other guests. We decided we couldn’t stay. The owner did take responsibility and helped us look for other accommodation, but the rooms at the alternative place weren’t enough for our group. We had to request a refund and urgently find somewhere else. We had travelled across the country for our holiday and booked well ahead of check-in, so I’m dissatisfied that a duplicate booking happened. I’m continuing to share this review so other people know.
