Air conditioning costs extra, though there’s a fan in the room if you’d rather skip that charge. We had a lovely time here and would definitely recommend the guesthouse. The family made us feel welcome, and the freshly prepared food was delicious. Our host spoke fluent English and spent time explaining public transport and sharing local advice. He also arranged a tuk-tuk driver, which made getting around easy.

Herath gave us honest, useful advice for visiting the Anuradhapura ancient city, and it made my trip much better. He was kind and went out of his way to make us comfortable. Diyawara Homestay was very clean and well maintained, with everything in great shape. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

Herath picked us up and even drove us to our next place, which was so kind. It was lovely meeting him and his family. The place was clean and everything worked well. I'd really recommend staying here, it’s an experience everyone should have :)

The owner was really nice and friendly, and gave us helpful advice. He can also arrange car rental or a tuktuk. The house is lovely, with a small garden, and our room was clean, with air conditioning and hot water. I'd stay here again if I get the chance.

As a woman traveling solo, I felt safe and comfortable here. The owner and his family were lovely, and he helped me find things to do and even plan the rest of my trip. My room and bathroom were both very, very clean. I’d recommend this place to families or to any backpacker wanting a couple of nights away from dorms.
