Four Points Resort - Anuradhapura

The whole stay felt homely, and the rooms were comfortable. We came as a group of 50 for one night, and the team made us feel very welcome. They greeted us with bokeh and candle lighting, which made our arrival feel special. The food was delicious, and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. A great experience.

The fresh water fish curry was my favorite. This was a reasonably priced breakfast buffet, with tasty food, though there weren't many choices. It's a 100% Sri Lankan menu, so there are no Western options. The staff were friendly.

The food was surprisingly delicious, and the surroundings were peaceful. The staff were kind and understanding too, but the problems with the room and bathroom outweighed those good parts. There was a strong smell when we entered, and later we realized the extra bed covers had been left unwashed from the previous guest. The door had bits of tape stuck to it, the window wouldn't close properly, and a murky liquid was dripping from the wall under the table. In the bathroom, an always-open window let in dozens of mosquitoes. The sink area had mold, the tiles were yellow-stained, and there was disgusting filth around the toilet. We couldn't get Dialog signal anywhere in the room, including WiFi. Given the price, it just wasn't worth it. I came with high hopes and good recommendations from close family, so I was severely disappointed. I won't recommend the hotel unless these issues are fixed. I hope management looks into them, because the place has hidden potential.

Breakfast tasted good, but the service was very unfriendly and the staff couldn't be reasoned with. We booked for a group and were charged for every plate used at breakfast instead of for the number of people who ate. The room TV remotes didn't work either.
