We really enjoyed the food, every dish was flavorful and cooked just right. The restaurant sits somewhere calm and peaceful, and the welcoming staff went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. Being able to bring our own drinks added to the value. They also have accommodation, so it could work well for a weekend away. I'd recommend it for a good meal and a lovely experience.

I didn't stay overnight, but I tried the "Saval Rice" and it was fantastic value, with enough for five people. Eating outside under the pretty lights was lovely too. It took about an hour after ordering, so ordering ahead is a good idea.

The rooms and meals are reasonably priced and good value. Lavonka Tourist Rest is a homely place just outside busy Anuradhapura, with clean, tidy, spacious bedrooms. You can choose AC or a cheaper non-AC room. There's an airy restaurant with a small lounge, plus a little, nicely arranged garden that's ideal for evening tea and a snack. Pradeep and his wife look after everything superbly. His wife cooks clean, tasty, home-style food, and they'll make almost anything you fancy if you give them some time to prepare it.

The staff were so kind, respectful, and helpful, and spoke English really well, which made it easy for me to communicate. The building and grounds were beautiful, and the food was amazing. I can't wait to return.

A clean, good option for families, with fresh linen, tidy rooms, and nice bathrooms. It's also not far from the ancient city.
