The coffee is the thing I keep thinking about, but the whole place is wonderful. They use local Sri Lankan beans and roast them on site, and the food and atmosphere are great too. The owner is one of the kindest men I’ve met in Sri Lanka. He even offered to show me how to make a Sri Lankan pancake. I came every day I was in Arguam bay. Go, you won’t regret it.

The staff were friendly, but the pancakes let us down. One of the two we ordered came out as the wrong dish, and the bananas in the other were so green you could taste they weren’t ripe. They should have just told us they didn’t have ripe bananas.

Great coffee, and the shop is open. He roasts the beans himself. Ask him what it took to get the coffeeshop open, it’s a great story.

I stop in for coffee almost every day, and it’s always really tasty. The owner roasts the beans himself each day, so it tastes fresh. I haven’t found coffee this good elsewhere around Sri Lanka. Definitely recommend.

For the two weeks we were in Arugam Bay, my friend and I had breakfast here each morning. Luis, his uncle, and the staff were so nice to us, and the Sri Lankan omelette was the best :)).
