The beach and surf spots are about a minute away on foot, which made the location ideal. Harsha and the rest of the staff were kind and quick to help with anything I needed. There’s something social happening every night, and every other night they serve a Sri Lankan-style family buffet. The food was incredible. Such a great hostel, I’d definitely recommend it.

The main beach and surf break are an easy walk away, which is a big plus. There’s a social event or family dinner every night, and the facilities get cleaned daily. The staff were all friendly and helpful. This is easily the best hostel I’ve stayed at in Sri Lanka.

We spent two nights here with friends and had a great time. The sea was close by, so we went there and surfed. The atmosphere was fantastic, and our room was clean, had AC, and was well equipped. The staff were so kind and looked after us really well. We felt safe and happy here. Highly recommend.

The social atmosphere made it easy to meet other travelers, and the clean facilities and comfortable beds made the stay great. Hangover Hostels Arugam Bay is close to the beach, so it worked well for morning surf sessions and evening walks. Had an incredible time here and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Arugam Bay.

I’d come back in a heartbeat. I stayed five nights, made some great friends, and had a brilliant time. The beds and bathrooms were clean and comfortable, and the reps did a great job bringing people together. Harsha is a legend, always super helpful. Best hostel I’ve stayed in, 10/10 recommend.
