We came to Arugam Bay outside the main season to spend a few days working remotely, and the place and the people there suited us perfectly. The Wi-Fi is excellent, and so is the food. 💕 I especially want to mention Lakshar. He’s one of the kindest people I’ve met on my travels, and he literally works here 24/7. I’d definitely recommend staying here when it’s outside the main season. 🥰

We spent three nights here and really liked it. The garden was lovely and peaceful. After our travel plans changed at short notice, the staff were flexible and open to working with us. They offered us a discounted upgrade to a more luxurious cabana, which we really enjoyed. Our last night was in a smaller cabana without AC, and that was nice too. I’d happily recommend the place, though it isn’t cheap. To be honest, I wouldn’t have paid the original $250 price for the luxurious AC cabana.

We felt at home from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere was relaxed but full of positive energy, and everyone was kind, attentive and genuinely caring. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed and always greeted us with a smile. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean and in a great location. Highly recommended for a visit to Arugam Bay.

The cafe was a real highlight, with some of the best meals we had in Arugam Bay. The seafood and other proteins are locally sourced, and they grow vegetables at their family farm at whiskey point. It’s a little pricier than other places to stay in Arugam Bay, but the calm atmosphere, location, food and professional staff made it worthwhile. The attentive team, especially Chamal and Nurah, were polite, spoke excellent English and were helpful and informative. They arranged a tuk tuk driver for several trips to Peanut Farm surf break. We had no problems with management. Guests from Israel were staying there at the same time and seemed to enjoy themselves; we didn’t see discourteous or anti-Semitic behavior from the staff or management. The tropical gardens are immaculately kept, and the centrally located property feels like a peaceful oasis in a surfers paradise. The bungalows and cabanas are well appointed, though some don’t have air conditioning, so check first. Hot water can be an issue sometimes, but in the climate it was hardly a problem.
