I stayed at Riverside Inn Bandarawela with my son for three nights, from April 11 to 14, 2025. I booked room only, expecting to pay separately for meals. We had discussed and confirmed the meal prices well ahead of time, both verbally and in writing. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and there was enough parking. The location is convenient for going into Bandarawela town, though being right beside the main road means some noise. What really caught us off guard was being told when we checked in on the night of April 11 that the chef had left for the Avurudu holidays and the hotel couldn’t provide meals. We had to find every meal elsewhere, which was a major inconvenience. They should have told us at least a day before we arrived so we could make other plans or prepare for it.

The hotel is close to shops, transport, and tourist sites, so the location worked well for us. All the staff were friendly and helpful, and they were happy to assist with any request. We’d definitely stay again. (ETF Board Colombo, Finance Team)

It’s a cheaper option for the area, with adequate parking and a bar. The place needs to be cleaner, though. Since it adjoins the main road, there’s also some noise disturbance.
