Sapara River Inn

The service from Bandulla, the owner, has exceeded what I expected. He's helped with urgent matters while still making the place feel like a boutique luxury stay. Each morning, I can step straight out to my private balcony overlooking the beautiful Bentota river. My room at Sapara is spotless, spacious, modern, and has a big, comfortable bed. It also came with a cute, clean, and functional kitchen, which I wasn't expecting. I can't stress enough how special this hidden gem is.

I had a fantastic meal at Sapara River Guest. The menu had a good range for different tastes, and the dishes were beautifully presented, delicious, and made with fresh, flavorful ingredients. The setting was inviting, and the service was impeccable. Every dish was a delight. A five-star dining experience I'd happily recommend.

The rooms were clean, and breakfast was the best we had in Sri Lanka. The house looks out over a picturesque river, and our host was so welcoming. They kindly drove us to the beach and bus station. We only wish we’d had more time to stay.

The river view across from the property was lovely, but the room was far below what I expected. It was stuffy, with almost no ventilation, and the fan barely helped. The AC wasn’t working, and the owners hadn’t checked it before I arrived. I’d booked three nights but moved elsewhere after just one. Compared with other places at a similar price, this was well below average.
