Staying here felt like living alongside nature, with plants, insects, light, and wind all part of the home rather than shut out from it. In Havelock, Colombo, the place draws on Sri Lankan architecture inspired by Geoffrey Bawa, and the hosts are warm, kind, and closely connected to its spirit. The gardens run through the patios, the rooftops open onto green spaces, and even the outdoor showers add to the experience. Inside, natural elements and traditional Sri Lankan art are thoughtfully placed throughout. Air and light move freely, making the space feel refreshing as soon as you arrive. Each room has its own character, balancing minimalism with practical touches like desks, platforms, and hooks that make it easy to stay organized. The design feels honest, alive, and grounded in the island climate. If you're ready to see a side of Colombo beyond concrete walls, this is a rare place that honors biodiversity, culture, and balance while staying functional and timeless. A truly inspiring stay.

We loved it enough to book a second night, this time in a different room with an amazing bathroom full of plants. Our first room had a little balcony overlooking the garden, and the beds were comfy. The building itself is beautiful, with lots of plants blending into the nature outside and an indoor pond. Breakfast was delicious each morning. I highly recommend the coconut roti and sambal, and they even explained how to make it. The couple who own the place are so welcoming and kind. We'll definitely come back next time we're in Sri Lanka.

Manita and Manuji made us feel so welcome. They're warm, delightful hosts, and Manita shared useful information and could even be a great local guide for city tours. The house is clean, aesthetically pleasing, and incredibly inviting. We had a wonderful, especially pleasant hosting experience, and I highly recommend staying with them.

Such a hidden oasis! I felt safe and comfortable, and the owners were kind, welcoming, and always available. They made the best breakfast. There's a cute little cafe within walking distance for coffee, pastries, snacks, meals, and gelato.
