The Anam Hostel

The room was perfect and everything was great. Thanks to Hassan for sorting out the room and understanding the booking, and to Mohamed Azam for being kind and helpful. It was great meeting you both!

The room and hotel were simple, nothing fancy, but their kindness and flexibility made a huge difference. I had misunderstood where to get off the express bus from Jaffna and realized my mistake when I was already halfway out of Colombo at 4 a.m., with nowhere to stay. I called the hotel, and they answered right away and were very understanding. They worked out a fair, attractive price with me and let me check in immediately, even though I hadn’t booked ahead. Since my flight wasn’t until evening, they also let me keep the room all day. Their hospitality deserves my warmest recommendation.

The hostel was spotless and well kept, with cozy, comfortable rooms that made a good place to rest after exploring. The staff stood out most. They were friendly, attentive, and happy to go the extra mile, and their local tips made the trip feel more authentic. I also got to meet people from all over and share stories and memories with them. The location in the heart of Wellawatta made getting to the beaches and local culture easy. Markets were close by, and I could take a leisurely walk along the shore. From the warm welcome when I arrived to the end of my stay at The Anam, the hospitality made me feel at home. It was a fantastic mix of comfort, convenience, and cultural immersion, and I’d wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone wanting an unforgettable experience in this part of the world.
