After spending five nights from 1 Feb, I left to travel around and came back six days later for another five nights. The first room wasn’t equipped when I arrived, but after a few complaints everything was fine. The ocean-facing location was nice, with trains passing by. Breakfast was buffet style, and Mr Dissanayake and Dulci were excellent. The staff were very good overall, though some guests had ordinary manners. Thanks to Buddhika for finding me a room when I returned.

The view was amazing, but very little else made sense. The property is pretty old, and reception staff were rude. Although they advertise early check-in and late check-out, they wouldn’t accommodate either. For a day’s stay, they include only two 500ml water bottles, then charge 260LKR for each extra 500ml bottle. Please don’t be fooled by the photos.

The rooms are spacious, have the needed amenities, and all face the sea. The hotel is easy to spot on the main road, with the ocean just across the street. The atmosphere was nice, and the food was good with a buffet available. The restaurant did get crowded, though, and the seating felt cramped. A good option for staying in Colombo.

Getting around the city and reaching nearby attractions was easy from this well-located hotel. The surroundings were pleasant, and I found the stay comfortable. A good choice for a Colombo visit when you want convenient city access.

The ocean view seems to be the only selling point, so don't rely on the reviews. Our room's AC wasn't working, and at 4:30 in the morning we were moved to a suite. There was no fan, and the room felt suffocating. The rooms were old and not clean. The buffet area also looked unclean, so we skipped both dinner and breakfast. I've attached photos. The manager wasn't at the property to discuss any of this, and the front desk still didn't seem to know about the problems the next morning. We hoped the suite would be better, but its AC still didn't cool properly and it hadn't been cleaned either. I wouldn't recommend staying here. I'd pay a little more for a genuine 4-star hotel. I wonder how this place claims to be 4-star.
