Dignity Villa

After staying at five or six hotels and guest houses since arriving in Sri Lanka, this has been my favorite so far, and the best value too. We planned to stay one night but stretched it to two, partly because we wanted another dinner. The meals were some of the best of our trip. Daniel is a great host and easy to talk to. He offers a drink on arrival, helps plan trips, shares tips and expected prices, and can drive you short distances in his tuktuk. He and his wife make Sri Lankan dinners and breakfasts to suit what guests want, at fair prices. One evening my partner and I had a romantic dinner; the other, we ate with the other guests, which was nice since there isn't much to do at night. We used the hotel as a base for sigriya, the minneriya national park, where we saw lots of elephants, and the cave temples. The rooms have air conditioning, a fan, mosquito nets, and solar-powered hot water. We had a great stay and would recommend it.

Dignity Villa is 3.1 km from Dambulla Cave Temple, a World Heritage Site, and 53 km from SLAF Anuradhapura Airport. Free parking is available, and WiFi can be used in the public areas. The fan-cooled room has a dining area and garden views, while the private bathroom has a shower. Guests can use the barbecue facilities, shared lounge, luggage storage, and ironing service. Meals are served at the in-house restaurant, with packed lunches available on request and room service offered.

The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, and their adorable son was lovely too. They made us feel at home, and our clean room had all the essentials. We'd wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

Daniel, the owner, made my stay much easier by sharing lots of information about what to do and how to get there. He was the best host, and the room was as comfortable as I could have hoped for.
