What keeps me coming back to this place as a snowbird for the past five years is how easy it is to get everyday things in Ratmalana. Shops, groceries, and other necessities are nearby, and the town has almost everything you need. For fancier food or American, European, or high-end services, the city is only about 30 minutes away by inexpensive train, bus, taxi, or three-wheeler. The apartments are spacious and come with balconies, hot running water, air conditioning, modern bathrooms, and furnished kitchens with gas. It’s a gated community with a security guard. Gas, water, garbage, and TV cost extra. The owner manages the property well, and the team is amazing, with great communication throughout. There’s a lovely rooftop view all the way to the nearby ocean. During COVID, when the country was under curfew, I could do all my exercises up there. The property is also near the second airport, though it isn’t an international airport. I highly recommend staying here for a holiday or a longer visit. I can’t say enough good things about the people here.

Mold and electricity at 100 LKR per unit. If that sounds good to you, this is the place.

I spent a couple of months here. The place was really nice, the staff were good, and all the facilities were close by.

There’s a nice view from the rooftop, and you can park here and use the Wi-Fi. The rooms are very spacious and clean, and both the owner and the helpful, friendly staff made a good impression.
