Hotel 100

My girlfriend and I used Hotel 100 for a short visit, from 12 PM to 6 PM. It was easy to reach on foot, about 800 metres along Maharagama Road from the Dehiwala flyover. We'd called that morning to reserve an AC room on the third floor for 3,500 rupees. The receptionist, who seemed to be the owner, was a friendly young woman. She gave us a form asking for our names, mobile numbers, addresses, NICs and reason for the stay, and kept our NIC until checkout. She showed us to the room and handed over the key. The room had a large bed and TV, and the AC worked well. The bathroom's hot water worked too. We were happy with the privacy, safety and facilities for the price, and there were no unpleasant smells. My girlfriend felt comfortable and happy because we didn't see any male staff during our stay. If your girlfriend is shy around male staff or concerned about typical behaviour in smaller Sri Lankan hotels, she may feel at ease here. Our main concern was the sheets. They weren't white, so it was hard to tell if previous guests had used them. We were worried about hygiene and possible skin problems or other cleanliness issues. The sheets and pillowcases should be washed after every checkout, and white bedding would make cleanliness easier to judge. Even with that concern, we appreciated the affordable, comfortable stay and welcoming atmosphere. It was a great place for young couples, and we'd recommend it.
