Dickwella Resort & Spa

My husband turned 50 this week in February, and we marked it with a dive. He's a fish and I'm a crab, so it felt like the right way to celebrate. The resort made the occasion even better, and we felt we'd chosen well as soon as we arrived. The following day, PADI certified dive master Prasanth trained us in the pool. He explained the science and reasoning behind diving safely, and how to respect water, one of nature's most beautiful and feared forces. After several hours of training with him, we felt ready to dive to 10m the next day. The underwater Japanese museum felt eerie, a reminder of what happens when the world forgets you. We saw rusted statues, a car, and a tanker, now home to fish, along with lovely coral, fish, and rocks. I'm grateful for Prasanth's guidance, which has inspired us to return for more dives. We found the rooms clean and comfortable, and the staff were welcoming and friendly the whole time. The food was good, with a pleasant range of local and international dishes. It's a lovely beachfront spot with ocean views and a nice atmosphere, and a great base for enjoying Sri Lanka's southern coast. I'd definitely recommend it.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and were upgraded on arrival to the best suite available, the Turtle Bay Suite. The staff were wonderful, and the service showed Sri Lankan hospitality at its finest. The food was so good we went back for seconds at every meal, until we were completely full. With its beautiful ocean views, the place felt like a little slice of heaven and a much-needed break from busy life. One of our best stays in a while. Nothing but compliments, 10/10 ♥️

A really relaxing place for an evening. The cocktails were delicious, and the bar team was friendly and professional. Service was smooth and well organized. Thanks to Tharanga for keeping the standards so high. Highly recommended!
