I work in hospitality, and I found it inspiring to see a property that puts the guest experience first while supporting its staff in providing good service. The location is serene and convenient, and worked well for both relaxing and exploring. Dining, housekeeping, and guest services all ran smoothly, with staff anticipating needs before we asked. Our room was spotless, carefully arranged, and comfortable. From the start, the welcome felt warm and genuine, and the staff answered every question patiently and with a smile. It felt like they were creating an experience, not just providing rooms. I'd strongly encourage anyone visiting the area to stay here. The staff were lovely and made sure we were comfortable, even though we arrived quite late at night. The property is stunning, and I just wish I could've stayed longer than one day. A few things to be aware of before booking: getting there can be tricky, with some off-roading, and you'll need to manage quite a few stairs to reach reception and the restaurant. The hotel also isn't near Ella town, despite what booking websites falsely say.

The mountain view from our room was worth the stay. We had a good experience with the room service and cooperation, and they would bring food or other necessities if we texted. They also provided all kinds of toiletries, which was a nice touch. Still, they could be a bit more professional, and cleanliness could be an issue. We hadn't included breakfast with the room, so we ordered it instead. We paid 1500 LKR each for English breakfast and Sri Lankan traditional food, over 3000 LKR total, but it wasn't worth the price. We also had Nasigorang for lunch at the restaurant. The portions may not meet your expectations. Thanks to Dowa elegance for everything.

Getting up to the resort takes some planning. It's high on the hill and away from the main city, which makes it peaceful but harder to reach. The road in is broken and rough, so a sedan or other low car will scrape. You'll need a TukTuk or a 4WD or high-clearance vehicle for the final stretch. The property itself is amazing, with beautiful views and a great vibe. Once you've sorted out transport, it's totally worth it.

It was easy to enjoy dinner at the resort, with tasty food at reasonable prices, so we didn't need to go into Ella town. The main drawback was getting up to the resort from Ella, since it's high above town and a tuk-tuk at a reasonable price can be hard to find. It might help if the resort arranged transport a couple of times a day. We spent two peaceful nights here, away from the crowds, with beautiful, calming mountain views. The staff were friendly and attentive, and helped with our luggage. Aside from the location, it's a lovely place to unwind and we'd recommend it.
