Misty Hills Ella Resort

The staff were very friendly and arranged a tuktuk contact we could text whenever we needed a ride. They also set up a taxi to our next holiday stop. Ella’s main area is busy, so the location worked well, though the hotel is near a main road and you’ll often hear horns, just not late at night. Breakfast was amazing, with fresh food and plenty of options. We had dinner at the hotel one night too, and it was very good and well priced. The bedrooms are spacious, with large balconies and lots of windows for natural light. There were a few things that could be better: just one bedside table, not enough hangers, and a chest of drawers would be useful. The bathroom hot water took a long time to warm up. There weren’t many sunbeds at the pool, and the pool shower was in an inconvenient spot.

Getting into Ella center means taking a tuk tuk or car. The road is steep and unlit, so walking there isn’t wise. Inside, we found the rooms a little noisy, with sounds from the hallways, balconies, and road horns. We stayed four nights and really enjoyed it. The hotel was clean, the pool was fantastic, and the whole staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. There’s a beautiful view over the valley, and I’d definitely recommend the hotel.

My dad and I spent three nights here and both wished we could’ve stayed longer. The views are unbelievable, the rooms are top notch, and the food is really tasty. What stood out most was the customer service. They sorted everything for us, and a big thanks to Udayangika for making the stay extra special.

The views were spectacular and our room was wonderful, but it was the staff who made the stay so special. The admin ladies were lovely and looked after everything we needed. Ranga went above and beyond: he made sure we got what we wanted, drove us into town late at night, and helped us leave at 3am with breakfast to go. He woke up half an hour early to make it. That was real kindness and such a great example of service.
