New Green View

We spent a day touring around Ella by tuk-tuk with Nimantha, and it was such a fun, authentic way to see the area. He showed us all the best spots and made the day special. Nimantha and his girlfriend were both so kind and arranged a great stay. He also organized our transfers from Sigiriya to Ella and then on to Yala, so the travel was smooth and stress-free. The room was spacious and comfortable, and we especially enjoyed relaxing on the big balcony with the beautiful hill and nature views. We’d definitely stay again!

The staff were friendly, and the view is lovely. They can sort out tuk-tuks and laundry, there was plenty of room to park our van, and we could pick our rooms when we arrived. The stay itself was unpleasant, though, and we were eager to leave. The sheets had stains, we killed at least three cockroaches before showering, and the water pressure was extremely low. There was no hot water on one of our two nights. Breakfast also felt expensive for what we got. It gets noisy from 6am because the property is right beside a bus stop. That isn't the hosts' fault, but guests should know.

So loud all night, since our room was right by reception and the Main Street. The room and bathroom were covered in mold and smelled damp. Honestly, I don't get all the positive reviews. The worst stay we had in Sri Lanka!!

The building complex is impressive, and the view is great. The room itself wasn't clean, though, and we had to deal with cockroaches ourselves. When we told the staff, they didn't seem very bothered and did nothing, not even offer a discount as a gesture. Still, cockroaches do seem to be everywhere in Sri Lanka.
