Land's End Villa

We had a good two-night stay, and the staff were warm, especially the manager. The beach is about a 400-meter walk away, with lots of restaurants along the route. We enjoyed the sunset view and the pool overlooking it. The rooms were big, and the toiletries were generous. We asked for an electric kettle and tea bags, and the host provided them nicely. For dinner, we asked the manager to arrange red snapper with salad and grilled potatoes. Yumm, delicious!

Dinner was the thing I’ll remember most about Land’s End Villa. The manager is also the chef, and his seafood was fresh, full of flavour, and cooked with real care. Every meal felt personal, not like standard hotel food. I’d have been sorry to miss it, especially when there was no need to go elsewhere for such good food. The villa itself is quiet and private, with lovely views and comfortable rooms. The calm setting, attentive service, and cooking made it a place I’d happily recommend. Don’t skip dinner.

Breakfast on the terrace with a sea view was a lovely part of our stay, and the manager gave us some excellent restaurant suggestions. Lands End Villa sits in a quiet corner of Unawatuna, while still being close enough to reach everything on foot. I wasn’t impressed with the laundry service, though. It seemed overpriced, and my clothes were washed and left to dry on a rock outside my door without being ironed. Had I known, I could easily have done that myself.

The pool was great for all ages, and both breakfast and the grilled dishes we ordered were really good. The staff were amazing too. It’s at the far end of Unawatuna, with gorgeous sunsets that are a must-see. My room was a little small, but it had all the amenities. I really can’t recommend the place enough.
