Silanway Holiday Inn

The staff were kind and helpful, the place was kept very clean, and the rooms were great for the price. We stayed one night and were happy we'd found it, since Haputale is tiny and there aren't many places like this. Finding it takes a bit of effort. You go through a gas station and down a narrow road that looks like it leads nowhere. As is common in hilly areas, the road is above the house, so getting a car in and parked is a little difficult. Still, no problems with the stay.

The only thing I missed was a duvet. The bed had one sheet and two thin blankets, like airplane ones. Otherwise the room was great and recently refurbished, with a warm heated shower. Breakfast was excellent, and they welcomed us with a pot of delicious Highlands Sri Lankan tea. Staff were friendly and very attentive, even though not many spoke English. They also kept our bags for free while we went on a three-day trek.

The host is humble, friendly, and treats guests really well. Rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, and good value for the money. It's an easy walk to the railway station, bus stand, restaurants, wine stores, and more. A great place to stay while traveling around haputale, highly recommend it.

A good place for both tourists and locals, with all the facilities. It's a short walk from the Haputale bus stop. Reception and the staff were cooperative and ready to help anytime. The in-house chef is good, and breakfast was delicious.
