At Ease Beach Hotel

The room was large and the location was good, but I wouldn’t recommend this place. There was barely any service, with just one person running the whole hotel. Cleanliness was poor, and there were no proper toiletries. The soap and shampoo were empty and left outside the shower, which had no holder. We got only two small towels, and the pool and beach towels were dirty. There were no hand towels or duvet, just a sheet and two pillows. The room lighting was poor. Breakfast was extremely poor, and Wi-Fi didn’t work in the room or by the pool. It’s cash only, with no elevator and very steep stairs. There are much better options nearby.

The breakfast was top notch, and even though the dinner menu is very limited, what we ordered was tasty. You can tell they’ve put a lot of thought into the food. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and eco friendly, and the whole hotel has a calming atmosphere. The service really made our stay. The staff are kind and professional, and went out of their way to make us comfortable. Their warm, thoughtful care exceeded what we expected. We had a great experience at this hidden Jem in Hikkaduwa and will definitely come again. Thanks!

The owner helped us arrange a fantastic trip around the island over several days in our own private bus. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the rooms were modern and nice. We spent 5 wonderful days at Ease. The location is great, and the beachfront rooms are clearly the better ones. The only small disappointment was the bland Western food in the hotel restaurant. There are several great places serving Sri Lankan food within walking distance along the beach, though.

The top-floor rooms at least have very high ceilings, so there’s lots of room to breathe and feel at ease. This place is quirky, fun, spacious, clean, and responsible, and the young ones loved it. My daughter jumped into the pool as soon as we arrived and said she wanted to stay five days. The beach isn’t recommended for swimming because of the strong undercurrent.
