We saw monkeys from the balcony, and the villa’s fresh, modern feel made a great first impression. It had only recently opened, and everything looked thoughtfully designed. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and beautifully kept. The bathroom stood out: spacious, stylish, and finished to a high standard, one of the best we had on our trip. Everyone was kind, welcoming, and ready to help, which made us feel well looked after. We’d happily return and recommend it to others visiting Sri Lanka. The water pump can be a bit loud, though it didn’t bother us personally. The room could also use a few more practical touches, like hooks for towels or clothes. The balcony was nice but underused, since there was no furniture to sit on.

The friendly staff made us feel at home as soon as we arrived, and the breakfast was excellent. Narigama Beach is about a five-minute walk away. We had a wonderful time here, and it’s a peaceful place that’s still close to the beach. I’ll definitely come back and recommend it to anyone staying in Hikkaduwa.

We were the first guests, which explains why there weren’t any reviews when we booked Kavana Resort and Villa on our own judgment. It turned out to be the best decision. Everything was brand new, and the place got a little more polished each day. It felt cozy and like home. We were the only guests throughout our stay, so it felt like having our own villa. There are only a few rooms, and I think it should stay quiet and peaceful. The hotel is away from the main road and railway tracks, so there was no noise from traffic, trains, local residents, or other tourists. The sea is about a five-minute walk away, with restaurants, a pharmacy, hospital, minimarket, and laundromat nearby. The people there were incredibly responsive and sociable, always willing to help make our stay comfortable. They kept our room clean, sorted out any household issue the same day, and arranged a varied breakfast at a time that suited us. I highly recommend this hotel. P.S. Google Maps doesn’t show the route to the hotel. From the main road, turn near the hospital, cross the railway tracks, then turn right near the Onera Villa sign. After Onera Villa, turn left toward Monkey Villa. Kavana Resort and Villa is opposite Monkey Villa.

We stayed from January 12th to January 25th and liked it all. A nice, very clean villa, good breakfast, and nice staff.
