Swimming is right there from your room, and you can also sit at the cafe/restaurant and watch the waves. They were pretty formidable while we were there, sometimes too high for an easy swim. The setting is lovely, on one of the best stretches of beach and right on the main road, yet quiet enough. There’s a wide cocktail selection, though no happy hour. The food is OK, and there are plenty of other choices along the beach and road. Indika is a great guy and helped arrange a transfer, and the staff were lovely too. It isn’t cheap, but we thought it was well worth the price. We liked both the town and the place so much that we extended our stay in Hikkudawa.

We loved the sunsets from this beachfront spot, and the people working there were so lovely they made us feel like old friends. They even surprised us with free ice cream. The food was incredible. We came back the very next day because nothing else on our trip came close. Honestly, 10/10, I’d return just for this place.

Great stay, and the owner and all the staff were great too. Just a heads-up, there is NOT a pool like the one you can see here on Google from an OTA.

Five visits so far, and I still think this is the best place in town for surfing, eating, relaxing, and all that. Everything at the hotel is clean and very well organized. The staff are the friendliest, and the beer on the beach is the cheapest :) Greetings from Austria to the big boss!!

Villa Paradise made for a wonderful stay for my friend and me. We really enjoyed the delicious breakfast, and the service was top-notch, with the staff going out of their way to make us comfortable. It’s right next to the beach, so the views and relaxing atmosphere are easy to enjoy. Highly recommend for a visit to Sri Lanka!
