The staff were polite and helpful, and did what they could. In my view, the bigger problems came down to management and upkeep. We left immediately, before spending even one night, despite having booked five nights at the end of our trip to relax. We travel often and don’t need much luxury, but this stay wasn’t what we expected from a property marketed as four or five stars. We also found it hard to square the experience with so many very positive reviews. The rooms and facilities felt dated and poorly maintained, with humidity marks, worn fittings and other signs of neglect. We know humidity is normal in a tropical country; maintenance, privacy and service standards were the issue. Our first room faced the main pool, where guests were constantly walking past and could see inside. After we raised this, we were moved to a room directly above the children’s pool. Construction was ongoing too, and the noise made it feel even less peaceful. This was also the only hotel of our trip that offered no welcome gesture at all, not even a drink, despite being meant to be the most luxurious stay.

We loved that the hotel is right on the beach. Each evening there was a good selection of local and international dishes, and the service was friendly and great. They clearly made an effort to keep everything clean. The New Year’s Eve celebration was spectacular, and it really surprised us in a good way.

The rooms were a little dated, but the staff’s care and attention made up for that. We stayed from the 31st in rooms 401, 402 and 404, and had a memorable time. The hotel was clean and well maintained, with a beautiful view, and we were warmly welcomed when we arrived. Service stood out throughout our stay. Everyone was professional, friendly and considerate. A special thanks to Denuwan, the Food and Beverage Manager, who went out of his way to make sure everything was right for us. We’re grateful for the hospitality and had a wonderful stay.

For our first wedding anniversary, we booked a Deluxe King Room at Pandanus Beach Resort & Spa and were surprised with an upgrade to the Presidential Suite. It was spacious, elegant and beautifully kept, which made the occasion feel even more special. They also left us an anniversary cake and cookies, a thoughtful touch. Miss Nina looked after us so warmly throughout our stay, and we felt genuinely valued. The dinner and breakfast buffets were good overall, with satisfying flavors and a nice range of choices. A memorable stay for a special celebration.
