The hotel sits right on the beach, and the staff were attentive and really friendly. The food was good, with the devilled prawns standing out, though they cost SLR8500 for two.

The sunrise over the beachfront was beautiful. We found the room spacious, with clean linen, hot water, tea and coffee, and AC. The prices were very reasonable, and Mr Himaz was friendly and accommodating, arranging a room for us at very short notice for our one-night stay at the Aqua Marine Beach hotel in Kalkudah.

The chef will make Sri Lankan Tamil food if you ask, and the staff are super friendly. Amazing hotel, 100% recommend.

We had the whole place to ourselves since we were the only guests, and the rooms were clean. The staff were friendly and did what they could. Still, the stay was far from satisfactory: water was cut off repeatedly, pressure was very low when it came back, and there was no hot water. We had agreed to pay 16,000 Rs for a triple room with breakfast, but they charged 18,000 Rs and said it was an error. The beachfront was in poor shape and covered in cow dung.

I can't recommend staying here. The beachfront was in bad condition, with cow dung all over it. Water kept cutting out, and when it was available the pressure was very weak. We never got hot water either. We agreed on 16,000 Rs for a triple room with breakfast but were charged 18,000 Rs, which the hotel said was an error.
