The room was nice, with amazing views, and the hosts were so kind and attentive. They went out of their way to look after us and show us Kandy, from sharing a beer with our evening meal to hiking with their son. I saw some old Google reviews that seemed to be part of one person's hate campaign about four years ago. It just looked mean.

Breakfast and the food were delicious and plentiful. You can ask for dinner too, and it’s well worth trying. Mr. Nihal and his wife are such welcoming, kind hosts. They can pick you up from the railway or bus station, and make sure you get to your next stop on time when you leave. Mr. Nihal knows Kandy really well and arranges tours at a fair price. He also shared useful local tips and ways to avoid the crowded tourist spots. I got to visit the Temple of the Tooth early in the morning with his family, which was a special, one of a kind experience. Thanks for the warm hospitality. I wholeheartedly recommend this guesthouse!

We felt so grateful to this lovely family. Mr Nihal helped us with bus timetable information I couldn't find online, then drove us to the bus stand early in the morning. It made a big difference. He also gave us a free ride up to the house, which is away from the center. The balcony view is amazing, and there's a panoramic window in the room. Everything was clean and nice. Since I didn't like Kandy town much, getting away from the street noise here was a relief. Breakfast was tasty and filling. I wish we'd stayed longer, but our two-week vacation was pretty tightly scheduled. That low rating here really isn't fair at all.

It was a total coincidence that I ended up with this host family, and it made me believe in destiny even more. They’re wonderful people who look after you, want you to be happy, and help you get to know their culture. It felt like spending time with relatives. I had a great first day in Sri Lanka, exploring Kandy with Darshana, and we had so much fun. Please try their home-cooked dinner, you’ll love it. The next hosts and hotels have a lot to live up to! Thanks for such a lovely start to my trip in Sri Lanka. I’ll see you again next year. Big love!!!
