Cinnamon Citadel Kandy

Sasi at the Citadel All Day Dining outlet made us feel welcome and comfortable as soon as we arrived. He’s friendly, attentive and very professional, and pays close attention to the details. He’s always ready to help with a smile, and his positive attitude adds a lot to the dining experience. Staff like Sasi are what make a visit to Citadel special. His hospitality and commitment to guests are outstanding.

We had a fantastic time at Cinnamon Citadel. The restaurant food was delicious, and the staff there went above and beyond to look after us. Special mention to Imashi and Gamini, who really made an extra effort. The rooms were lovely, and housekeeping were friendly and kept making them look nice. The setting is quiet but still not too far from Kandy, with beautiful views over the river.

Christina went out of her way to find a doctor when my son became unwell, and that really mattered to us. Janaka from the pool team was also so friendly and made our family’s time there more enjoyable. The F&B team, Sasi, Jayantha, Sandun, Nissanka, and Lakshan, were warm, attentive, and professional throughout. Breakfast and lunch were a highlight, with quality and variety beyond what we expected. Our room was spacious and well appointed, with a lovely view over the Mahaweli River. Waking up to it made the stay feel especially peaceful. We had a memorable family visit to Cinnamon Citadel Kandy, with comfort, scenery, and hospitality all coming together. We’d recommend it to families looking for a relaxing stay in Kandy.

The menu at Chutneys in Cinnamon Citadel Hotel had very few vegetable dishes, so as a fully vegan family we weren’t sure what we’d be able to eat. Chef Chathura came out to talk with us and thoughtfully prepared traditional rice and curry to suit our dietary needs. It was delicious and full of flavor, and he checked in during the meal to make sure we were comfortable and happy with it. Sandakelum and Samantha welcomed us warmly and looked after us from start to finish. Their care, along with the chef’s effort, made this a memorable lunch with my parents and grandmother despite the limited vegan choices. We’d gladly visit again. Thank you for such kind service.
