I've never had a worse welcome anywhere. The hotel itself is beautiful and my room was very comfortable, but the way I was received made the night unpleasant. I wondered if it was because I was a woman traveling alone. The man who greeted me barely looked at me or said hello. When I asked whether a room was available, he only said yes and then stopped, leaving me standing there in an awkward silence. I had to ask again before he finally walked me to a room. He asked me about ten times, in an unpleasant way, whether I wanted breakfast the next morning, and I said no each time. He also asked around seven times what time I would leave, even though I told him right away I was definitely leaving before the 11 am latest checkout. I left at 8:30 am. In the morning I opened my door and saw him standing there. I hope he was just there as part of his work at the hotel. He didn't say hello, only “bye”. I don't think I'm a mean person, and I don't feel I deserved to be treated like that. The hospitality needs work.

The rooms were spotless, spacious, and smelled great, and I loved the interior design. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and the price felt fair for what we got. A couple of things could be better: hot water turned cold after a while, so we couldn't fill the big bathtub with hot water. The food was decent, though a bit pricey. We booked two rooms, and one had little view, which was disappointing. Parking was tricky with room for just one vehicle, but we found a place on the road without any trouble. Booking.com listed a tea and coffee maker in the room, but there wasn't one. They made tea for us when we asked, so that was no big deal. Still, we had a really nice time at the villa.

The staff were very helpful. They got us an iron and prepared breakfast early, and we recommend the hotel. The room was large, though it didn't have a nice view. The hotel is very nice, but unfortunately, we don't recommend eating there.

Malith, the cook, made food that was out of this world. Every meal was authentic, full of flavor, and made with heart. Dinesh kept everything running smoothly, with calm efficiency and a warm smile. The villa is in a quiet corner, a welcome break from the city bustle, but still close to Kandy's main attractions. It's beautifully kept, neat and clean, with French colonial architecture and old-world charm alongside modern comforts. We had an absolute delight of a stay here, a real home away from home. Highly recommended for a visit to Kandy.

The rooms were beautiful and clean, and the bed was comfortable. Everything was well organized, breakfast was delicious, and the staff made us feel very welcome. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend it.
