Hanthana Villa

Mr. Ananda was calm, friendly, and very accommodating, and the villa had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It's spacious, attractively decorated, and well maintained, set in a housing scheme on a hill among lots of greenery. A peaceful spot to relax, and we'd gladly return. I'd recommend it to families looking for a cozy, home-like stay in Kandy. You can arrange meals with the host or use PickMe delivery. There's room to park about 4 to 5 family vehicles. Around 500 meters uphill, a short hike leads to a scenic viewpoint with a beautiful panoramic view. Google Maps takes you along Hanthana Road, and clear name boards at the main junctions and turns make the villa easy to find.

The location is a little out of town, so you'll need a vehicle, though it's handy for the start of the Pekoe Trail. The rooms had the amenities I'd expect for the price, and when there was a small hot water problem it was fixed quickly. The sockets are all old round-pin types, so bring an adapter. Hopefully they get updated. We had two delicious home-cooked meals, and after a long hike it felt like eating with family. Ananda Uncle and his family made us feel right at home. This was the best value stay I've had, and I'd happily recommend it to anyone visiting Kandy who wants a break from the city bustle.

A clean, pleasant place with good care and treatment, and the rooms have great mountain views. There aren't many restrictions, but you do need to have some self-discipline. Good luck!

The owner was really kind and helpful. Our group stayed overnight before heading out on the Pekoe Trail the next day. Uber and PickMe both come to this location.
