Heaven Seven Kandy

We came to this hotel restaurant on a recommendation from the place we were staying nearby, and the service was really disappointing. We ordered two breakfasts and were told to expect about a 20-minute wait, but it took an hour. The coffee and tea we’d ordered never came, and even after asking three times for cold water, we didn’t get any until we paid the bill. We were the only guests, despite there being many workers around. The pancakes and fried egg finally arrived with cold sausage and cold potato; even the egg wasn’t warm and seemed boiled rather than fried. They must have realized something had gone wrong, because they offered a 10% discount. That’s why I gave two stars instead of one.

It’s in a good location, but my room was quite small and the service wasn’t great. The food cost a lot for the small portions. The view seems to be a major selling point, though from the first floor I mostly saw rooftops, not the city. I also found the room information and rates unclear. It may not be the best choice for local guests, and I’d like to see more honesty and consistency.

The rooms are very basic and seem more suited to short stays. There’s no view from the first floor because the roof of the new restaurant blocks it.

I stayed for two nights, and Irfan, the manager, and his team made us feel at home right away. They were warm, generous, and attentive, always ready to help with anything we needed. Their hospitality made everything feel easy, and you could tell guest satisfaction mattered to them. The food was delicious, with plenty of flavors to choose from. Every part of the experience felt thoughtfully handled, and the service was genuinely top-notch. This hotel went beyond what I expected, and I’d recommend it to anyone planning a memorable stay.
