Jily Stay

Only 2 km from Kandy city center, it was easy to get around while still being peaceful and quiet. We stayed in Room No. 3, with a beautiful balcony view of the hills that was perfect for relaxing. Jilly Stay is a small, cozy, clean hotel that feels like home, and the host was super friendly and helpful, making the stay feel personal and warm. Great for short stays or day outings, and definitely worth the price for travelers after a comfortable, budget-friendly place. Highly recommend!

From the balcony, you can see half the city, along with lots of birds and squirrels. Monkeys sometimes come by, but they leave you alone if you don't disturb them. We didn't feed them, since nature has enough for them. The yard has a starfruit tree and other trees whose fruit they eat before heading back. The owners are kind-hearted and caring toward nature, and very hospitable and helpful by nature. The place is quite calm and peaceful. Highly recommended.

I felt completely at home at Jilly Stay, a small place with just three rooms where you can expect attentive service. Huge thanks to the owners, who were awesome and made everything smooth. I had the upper room, with a wonderful balcony for looking at the sky, mountains, and city. It's a convenient distance from town, with a nice breeze in the room and a fan for the evening. There was also a small refrig, electric kettle, TV, table/desk, and balcony seating. I really enjoyed my stay and wish I'd booked here first when I arrived in Kandy. I definitely recommend it.

Getting food delivered with Uber Eats is easy, and Uber tuk-tuks are readily available. Jilly Stay is about 3 km from Hanthana Bird Park and 1.5 km from Kandy town. Sandagiri Seya and the Hanthana hiking trail are nearby, too. Watch out for leeches on the hike and follow safety precautions. It's a calm place with clean surroundings and hot water, and the owner is very friendly and welcoming, a truly beautiful lady. Highly recommend for a relaxing stay!
