We spent five days visiting Nelligala, and New Madara Residence was an ideal base since it’s the closest hotel. It had every amenity we needed. The rooms were excellent, with plenty of space to wander around, sit and unwind, or just watch the world go by. The location is lovely, with beautiful scenery, and the service staff were attentive and caring. It felt like a home away from home.

We stayed one night with our family and found the place very clean, with comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Manager Lakshitha was especially pleasant and helpful. From here, Nelligala International Buddhist Temple is about 15 minutes away, and Kandy city is only 4 or 5 kms via Gannoruwa road. It’s good value for the price, and I’d definitely recommend it for a cool stay.

The food was great, and the people working there were both professional and really friendly. Add the calm surroundings, the facilities, and that perfect view, and this became the best trip I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful with a beautiful view, I highly recommend it.

You can see the nelligala temple from here. It’s a calm, clean place to spend a day, with some nice views around it too.
