The natural setting was a big part of our stay at Kawan Forest Villa. Tall trees, greenery, and birdsong made it feel calm and far removed from city life. It’s around 150 meters from the Kataragama–Hambantota main road, so it’s easy to reach while still feeling private. The villa has eight air-conditioned rooms, with comfortable layouts that give guests privacy. The interiors and fittings feel high quality, especially the spotless, modern bathrooms. Outside, there’s a cared-for pool, plenty of open ground for gatherings, and parking for several vehicles. Staff were friendly, attentive, and supportive throughout. There aren’t meals provided, but the kitchen facilities make it easy to cook for yourself. It works well for family get-togethers, outings with friends, or company events. For the comfort and facilities, the price is hard to beat in this area. Highly recommended. I’ll definitely visit again. One of the best stays around Kataragama.

Getting to Yala National Park is easy from here, so it makes a handy base for a safari. The staff were warm and attentive, and really went out of their way to make our visit special. We stayed in a bungalow surrounded by nature, with gorgeous views and a peaceful feel. The rooms were spotless, roomy, and cozy, and the design, paintwork, and craftsmanship all showed care and attention to detail. It was a memorable stay, and I’d recommend it to couples, families, or anyone who loves being close to the wilderness.

The pool was clean, and at night the place looked beautiful and felt really calming with all the lights on. The people working there were friendly too. We did have a few room problems: ours couldn’t be locked from outside, and the bathroom lock was broken. Finding the place was tricky because it’s hidden far from the main road, but someone came out to guide us there.

It’s hard to call this a hotel. The rooms, washroom, and toilet were dirty, and the lights in the rooms didn’t work. There was no service to speak of. Two employees, including the cook, tried their best, but the holiday was ruined.
