Butterfly Mountain Lake Side

We spent a week at Butterfly and had such a relaxing stay. The reservoir and Adam’s Peak views are unbelievable, and we spent loads of time on the terrace. Jayantha looked after us so well and made us feel comfortable. When I caught a cold one day, he suggested foods and remedies that might help. They also grow a lot of their own fruit and vegetables in the garden. There's a wide-ranging menu with plenty of choice. It's more expensive than other nearby restaurants, but the quality and variety are there. The vegetable rice and curry was a favourite. Our room was spacious and clean, and having laundry done was a huge help during a longer stay. It feels like a hidden gem, and we'll definitely come back.

The views and service were stunning, and the rooms were comfortable and clean. It's close to Adam’s peak, with plenty of food and drink options nearby. Our host was friendly and helpful. A 10/10 hotel, highly recommend.

I had lunch here today, and the bill came to almost twice the price we were first quoted. The prices aren't fixed or explained clearly. We also didn't get exactly what we ordered. The portions weren't worth the cost, the juices tasted bad, and the food quality didn't match the price. I don't recommend this place.

Butterfly Mountain in Maskeliya is a lovely, peaceful resort and was very well kept. We had mist for much of our stay, but getting up early to see Sri Paada was magical. Jayantha made sure we had everything we needed, and the two women in the kitchen deserve special praise. The food was delicious, and the place was spotless. We had plenty of hot coffee in the cool weather, explored Maskeliya town and visited Gartmore Falls, about 40 minutes away. The only problem was a group of guests making noise until around 11-11.30 pm, which disturbed the calm after our long ride. Even so, it was a wonderful stay, especially for nature lovers and couples looking for scenic views.
