The Seascape

The main reason to choose Seascape is its spot right on the beachfront. The beach is about 1 km long, beautiful, fairly wild, and not crowded. It’s great for surfing and long walks, and because the area isn’t overly developed, it has a peaceful, authentic feel. The staff were genuinely kind and helpful, and I enjoyed the good breakfast each morning. I stayed three nights after arriving from England, at the start of a month travelling around Sri Lanka. The hotel is a solid three-star place, fairly basic, and you generally get what you pay for. The rooms are simple and functional. I noticed a slight drainage smell in mine, though it wasn’t overpowering. Dinner was disappointing on both evenings I ate there, quite basic and a little overcooked. There are better places nearby for dinner, so I’d eat out. If you want beachfront access, a relaxed atmosphere, and decent value at a three-star level, it’s a reasonable option. Just keep your expectations in check for the rooms and dinner.

Right by the sea, this is a beautiful place with a perfect beachfront setting. The hosts are so warm and welcoming. Our room was very clean and well kept, and the food was tasty and freshly made.

We had a wonderful family Christmas evening here and would love to come back. The owner couple are very nice and half-srilankean. The place fronts a beautiful beach that’s perfect for getting started with wave riding. The rooms are clean and friendly, and the food is high quality.

The food was outstanding, fresh, full of flavor, and nicely presented. Our room was spacious, very clean, and well maintained, and the whole team made us feel welcome. You can tell they really care. From the first day, we felt at ease in the warm, relaxed, family-like atmosphere. There was a small thing that could be better: service was occasionally a bit uncoordinated, and we missed some proactivity now and then. It didn’t spoil a great stay, though. We left with warm hearts and would love to return. Highly recommend The Seascape!
