The villa itself felt creepy and unclean, with cobwebs all over and broken dolls in the kitchen cupboards. On our first night, the electricity kept cutting out every five minutes. We called the owners several times, but got no answer, and that first night of our holiday was ruined. We left the following morning. We had paid 50,000 Sri Lankan rupees upfront for a 10-night booking. When we asked for a refund, they didn't respond, then stopped picking up our calls. This was one of our worst stays. I wouldn't book here, it felt like a scam and a complete waste of money.

There’s good privacy here, and the rooms are spacious with large, clean bathrooms. The villa is in a quiet residential area about 1-2Km from the city. There’s no pool, but it has the facilities you need indoors and feels homely and calm for a holiday. For the price, it’s really worth it. Food is easy to order through pickme or uber, and popular restaurants and clubs are about 10 minutes away.

We booked through Airbnb, and the house felt very homely, private, and good for families. It’s fully air conditioned, with three rooms, two bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchen. The kitchen has the equipment for cooking or heating food, plus a fridge. There’s also a washing machine if you need it, and parking for up to three vehicles. A lady looks after the place; she’s nice and very helpful.

The beach is only about half a mile away, and Amali's uncle is a charming host in a lovely home. Breakfast was generous, with fruit, juice, eggs, toast, jam, butter, sausages, pastries, and tea or coffee. Everything was even better than I expected.
