Ever Green Villa

The room was spacious and very clean, and Ever Green Villa is close to both the beach and the airport. I really enjoyed staying here and will definitely come back.

The room is fairly new, but getting in meant calling the host or his wife so they could open the garage gate, despite there being a small gateway. Once inside, we were literally locked in. We didn't like that at all. The host was also hard for me to get along with and called us several times before our planned arrival, although we were only staying one night. Breakfast was very poor: three people got toast, jam, and three sweet buns. The location is okay, but I wouldn't recommend staying longer.

Breakfast was decent, and the bedding was comfortable. The room itself is clean and spacious, and the host couple are warm and welcoming. The house sits in a quiet area, a five-minute walk from the main street. The host is a qualified guide with 16 years of professional experience and knows Sri Lanka inside out. He can suggest excursions and visits and offer plenty of advice for planning your trip.

I couldn't find the place, and even my TukTuk driver was lost, so I asked some locals to help me call the owner. He told the woman on the phone he was 1 1/2 hours away. After a long wait, he finally showed up, then kept urging me not to write a bad review. I had been understanding until then, but it started making me very uncomfortable. At 4.30pm he said the room still wasn't ready and I'd have to wait another 45 minutes. I didn't feel okay there, so I left early and told him why. He kept calling until I blocked him. It was a very bad experience for me.
