We booked a hotel driver to take us safely back to the airport, and stayed here for one night beforehand. The place has a relaxed feel, with a spacious room and a large swimming pool. Our room was fairly basic, but very clean and comfortable, which felt like good value for £30. Breakfast was huge and delicious. Thanks!
The bed was super comfortable, the room huge, and breakfast was amazing, with a view of the river. There were lots of friendly animals around the property, mostly dogs. This was one of my favourite stays in Sri Lanka. We wanted to add another night, but the place was full, and I can see why.
The owner is extremely friendly and always ready to help, and the pool is nice. Rooms are fine for a short trip, though I wouldn’t want to stay longer than 2-3 nights. The real highlight is breakfast, with amazing food and a great view over the canal. If you’re lucky, you might even spot water monitors swimming by.
We really enjoyed ending our trip at Serendib village before flying home. Breakfast was probably the best we had on the whole trip: a big tray with lots of different foods, served on a platform beside the river. We had fun spotting the animals, including a monitor lizard and a kingfisher, and the pool was lovely to use too. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. When I got a small cut on my foot, they kindly helped me with a first aid kit.
The rooms are large, quiet, and great, and everyone on staff was kind and helpful. I especially liked having breakfast on the terrace beside the small river, where we could see a kingfisher. The clean pool was a good spot to cool off and relax in the heat. The location is perfect, and I’ll definitely come back.
