The pool was a real highlight, large and clean, and it was nice to be able to book a massage. The property itself is beautiful, tidy, and well looked after, and the staff were mostly polite and welcoming. We did have trouble sleeping because outside noise came through the room. Breakfast was also a stressful mess. We’d been told it started at 7:00, but when we arrived, staff seemed unsure and first asked us to pay, even though it was included in our booking. They then said it would take 10-15 minutes, but we waited 45. With an early flight, we had to rush and ask our taxi driver to hurry. The hotel is very nice and clean. Better organization and soundproofing would make a big difference.

We ended up coming back to Negombo at the end of our holiday and booked a three-day package with a stay at Jasmine Village. What brought us back was the daily program of Ayurvedic treatments, three hours each time and always including a full-body massage. We’d first stumbled on the place for an afternoon massage and were surprised by how good it was. The deluxe rooms are spacious and have everything you need. The staff are always friendly and willing to help, and the owner's family made us feel welcome too. The owner speaks fluent German. The area is quiet and pleasant, with a pool on site, and the beach distance didn’t bother us since there’s free drop-off during the day. The deluxe rooms are truly outstanding.

The therapists were professional and clearly experienced, which made my authentic Sri Lankan herbal massage especially relaxing. The setting is clean, attractive, and very well cared for, with a soothing atmosphere. They have plenty of services, from massages and steam sauna to flower and herbal baths. I’d recommend it to anyone after a relaxing, refreshing experience.

That massage was the worst I’ve had anywhere in my travels, and the worst in Sri Lanka. The oil was pungent and revolting, and they covered me in it. Once back at the hotel, I showered for 30 minutes, washed my clothes twice, and was about to wash my hair again. I’d booked a 75-minute full-body massage, but it ended 10 minutes early. I’m sure 10 minutes of the time went to wiping off the oil. They wanted the full 6600 rupees, so I complained. They offered a 10-minute foot massage, which I turned down. If the therapist knew it was meant to be 75 minutes, she should have given me the full time. The price was reduced to 6100 rupees. I’d never recommend this place.

We really enjoyed the full-body massage for two. The place is beautiful and peaceful, and the staff are very friendly. If you have a request or feedback, they do listen, you just have to tell them.
