The family running Manik homestay were really friendly and helpful, and they made me breakfast. It’s a clean, peaceful place with just three rooms in a little garden, right on Lewis place. Handy for a first stop after arriving in SL. Negombo town, with its bus stand, train station, and good shopping, is a short ride away.

The relaxed feel and fair prices made New Manik Homestay an easy place to settle into. The food was delicious, and the staff were kind and attentive, making me feel welcome. It felt like a home far from home. I’d stay here for the comfort, good meals, and genuine hospitality.

Jaia with Manik made for a lovely stay. The place was cozy and comfortable, with a warm, homey feel. My room was very clean and fully arranged, and breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended!

Mr Jay and his wife were caring and very helpful. When my airport cab was delayed because the Uber driver couldn’t understand the location, Mr Jay spoke with him several times in the local language and was clearly concerned about getting me picked up on time. They even gave me fresh, hot Ceylon tea at 5:45am before I left for the airport at 6am. I’d been left looking for a place near the airport after my booked hotel cancelled without telling me. I found this one by checking Maps and calling the owner on short notice. The property has a small garden around the rooms, and there are lots of restaurants nearby. It’s about 20 minutes from the airport. The beach is close too, though I didn’t get a chance to visit. There are several room options, including a two-room villa. Since I was on my own, I stayed in a decent non-AC room. There was one cockroach in the bathroom, so they could do some pest control. Still, they made me feel at home and were very accommodating. It’s probably best to call Mr Jay directly to book.
