Topaz Beach Hotel

I wasn’t staying at the hotel in February 2026, but I booked a deep tissue massage at its spa. Do not go there alone as a woman. The staff member who booked it and gave the massage wore a uniform marked “Director.” The treatment room had no light, with a certain between my bed and another bed. During the massage I was naked except for disposable knickers, in a room with three men. His message was inappropriate and he touched intimate areas without asking permission. He spent what felt like too long on my upper thighs and often brushed my intimate area under the disposable knickers. At one point he cupped my groin for about 10 seconds. I was too scared to speak up and went into “fawn” mode, part of the fight or flight response. I paid quickly and hadn’t spoken about what happened until now.

The beach and pool area is sublime, and the oceanfront rooms are large and all have balconies. The staff are exceptional. I’d return in a heartbeat. I’d first booked an awful hotel next door, then found this gem, and it turned the whole trip around.

Read the room details carefully when booking. If it says fan, there’s a good chance that’s all you’ll get. I stayed three days and bought two bottles of mosquito spray nearby to deal with the mosquitoes. Pick some up from a shop or supermarket.

We had a wonderful stay at Topaz Beach Hotel with a group of teenagers. The staff were cheerful, attentive, and exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our clean, roomy, air-conditioned rooms had good ventilation and a lovely view of the beach and pool. Near the pool, there’s a small outdoor shower that was clean and pleasant in the heat. Breakfast can be made to suit you, either English or traditional, and it’s excellent value. We highly recommend the hotel.
