Tropical Terrace Negombo

The pool was lovely and very clean, and the villa had a spacious, tidy interior with a beautiful tropical design. It felt peaceful while still being near local attractions. We had a wonderful stay at Tropical Terrace Negombo. Highly recommended for couples or families wanting privacy and comfort.

The owners were very nice and friendly, which is why I’m giving two stars, but I can’t see why the place gets five. The pool was clean and pleasant, and the room was large with comfortable beds, but it wasn’t clean, with hairs left here and there. The bathroom smelled strange, like dried fish had been kept in it. We had a room overlooking the pool, and the view could have been lovely, except the terrace right outside is open to everyone. There was no privacy, and people sat there talking loudly while we were trying to sleep. A door from the room opens toward the pool and can’t be darkened. A streetlamp right in front of it stayed on until sunrise, making the room bright all night. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you want quiet.

The staff were kind, the rooms clean, and there was everything we needed, from shampoo and soap to regular and pool towels. The villa has two floors, a big living room, a pool, a terrace, and parking on site. It’s a great place to stay when flying in or out. Really stunning, and I was sorry to leave. The price is very reasonable, too. I highly recommend it.

We only stayed one night before heading home, and the welcome was lovely. The owners were so friendly, and their ride to the airport the next day was a huge relief. It would’ve been great to have another day to relax here. Highly recommended.
