We had trouble finding the place at first, but the owner was really helpful and friendly. She had lived in Europe and understood the difficulties Europeans can run into in Sri Lanka. We only stayed one night on our trip, and I'd highly recommend it.
The room was comfortable, the staff friendly, and everything very clean. I felt like I was at my own home at Villa Extra. Breakfast was great, especially the homemade jam. I'd like to stay at Villa Extra again.
Thivi looked after us so well at Villa Extra and arranged excursions and tours around what we wanted. We took her Negombo city tour, including a boat ride through the lagoon, and it was a fantastic way to begin our Sri Lanka holiday. The villa is peaceful despite being centrally located, tucked on a street parallel to the main shopping and restaurant area. Shops and restaurants are very close, and the beach is only a few minutes away. It's a small house, a great spot for some quiet and privacy, and works well for the first or last nights in Sri Lanka. We returned on our way back and took a cooking class, then went to the airport the next day.
Negombo is close to Colombo and much more relaxed, so it was easy to settle in. There are plenty of sights around, even if the town seems unassuming at first, and the hosts are happy to help you explore. Don't miss breakfast! After a long flight we arrived tired but happy, and Thivi gave us a warm welcome. Villa Extra is tucked away in a quiet part of Negombo. We had a wonderful stay, with everything clean and tidy and our needs anticipated. The welcoming atmosphere made it a lovely start to our Sri Lanka trip. We'll definitely be back. Thank you so much!!!
