A tuk tuk driver dropped me at this guest house, and the owners turned out to be lovely and helpful. They dealt with the problems I had and answered my questions. It's an affordable base for seeing the local area or getting away from busy Colombo, and it's not too far from the airport.

I only stayed one night because I needed somewhere to sleep near a Tuk tuk rental. The worst part was an upsetting encounter with the owner. While his wife was away teaching at a school, we were having an ordinary conversation about my life when he suddenly made a disgusting, inappropriate offer of sex. I was shocked and told him it would never happen. He and his family had tried to make me comfortable before that, which made the situation all the more awkward. I was leaving that morning, thank God. The next day he called my Sri Lankan number for some reason, so I blocked him. The room was poorly ventilated and full of mosquitoes, with cockroaches everywhere. The bathroom smelled bad and had no ventilation, and there was no blanket. I don't recommend this place, especially for women traveling alone.

We had two rooms for two days, and it was a waste of money. After we'd paid, the very rude owner told us to leave because there was no electricity, but didn't want to refund us. We ended up staying in the dark, with no working fans and an A/C that didn't cool. There was no drinking water or blanket, and the family of three had just one towel for two days. Both the rooms and bathrooms had spiderwebs, and the rooms were full of mosquitoes. The bathroom smelled awful and had no ventilation. I don't recommend staying here.

They charged us extra for the blanket, water, and AC when we asked to check out. They also charged us at checkout and wouldn't let us use the AC properly. It totally ruined our trip. Scammers.
