Bluechip Leisure Summerhill Bungalow

The setting in the tea plantation was peaceful but still close enough to Nuwara Eliya, and Ragu kindly showed us around the fields. Staff were extraordinarily kind, especially Ragu. The bungalow was charming, our room was incredible, and the food was sublime. Summerhill Bungalow felt beautiful, elegant, spacious, and welcoming, like a place from a slower, kinder, almost mythical era. It was probably the best hotel we’ve stayed at in Sri Lanka.

We arrived to cold, rainy weather, but the fireplace and bed warmers kept us comfortable, and the shower was wonderfully hot. The building and rooms are incredible, with a feeling of stepping back into British colonial days. Service was outstanding and the food was lovely. We only stayed one night, which I regret. You won’t regret staying here.

The checkout surprise was a hamper of fresh vegetables from the garden, such a thoughtful gesture that really touched us. Raghu and his team made the whole stay special. Manager Raghu was friendly, professional, and humble, and paid attention to every detail. The staff were warm and professional too, always smiling and making us feel like family. The rooms were spotless, orderly, and comfortable, and every meal was delicious, full of flavor, and better than we expected. The bungalow sits among lush tea fields, a peaceful, refreshing setting. We loved our time here and will treasure the memories. It's one of the best places we’ve stayed, and we hope to return on our next visit to Nuwara Eliya. We were sad to leave after just one night. Ragu and Pugal gave us such warm hospitality, with a delicious traditional Sri Lankan dinner, breakfast in the beautiful garden, and an early morning walk through the tea fields. My partner and I had a fantastic stay in a private room in the colonial house at Bluechip Summerhill Bungalow in Nuwara Eliya. Highly recommend.
