Moonplains Hemaya Bungalow

We paid an advance for three rooms, including a whole floor, but when we arrived, they said only two rooms had been reserved. Their proposed fixes were to put us all in those two rooms with mattresses on the floor or find a room at a nearby residence. They had told us every room came with an attached bathroom, but actually there was only one bathroom for all of us to share. When we complained, the owner lady was dismissive and unprofessional. The service, location, rooms, and sanitation were all far below what we expected. It completely ruined our trip. 🙁

We had booked 3 double rooms 5 days ahead and paid 1/3 of the cost in advance, but they gave one of the reserved rooms to someone else the day before we arrived because they were “regular customers.” We had called on the morning of arrival as requested, and were told there was an “issue with 3 rooms” that would be sorted out when we got there. Instead, we discovered the booking had not been kept. The lady in charge argued and defended herself instead of admitting the mistake. They offered a room at another nearby homestay, but that wasn’t what we had booked. Since it was a long weekend and most places were full, we had to scramble to find somewhere else at the last minute. It was a stressful and frustrating experience, and I definitely don’t recommend it.

Our rooms weren’t clean, and the service was poor. I’d booked 3 double rooms and paid Rs. 5000 in advance, but on arrival the owner said he thought I’d booked only 2 and tried to find a room at a nearby hotel. They made it seem like my mistake, even though I’d sent the payment receipt and booking details through WhatsApp. The lady at the bungalow even admitted she’d missed the booking because I didn’t have WhatsApp DP 😂. The whole thing was unprofessional. Definitely not recommended.

The woman looking after the bungalow, who may be the owner, kept arguing and wouldn’t accept the place’s shortcomings. The bathroom sinks weren’t connected to pipes, so water was always left standing in the bathrooms. Also, the bathroom windows were transparent, leaving people inside visible from the road. A very bad experience.
