Palazzo Lake Gregory

We stayed at Palazzo Lake Gregory from 17 Feb to 19 Feb 26, and the view from room 301 was wonderful. The whole team helped make our stay memorable, especially the housekeeping staff and Niti. The owner is lucky to have such dedicated, motivated people working for him. Mr Pushpakanth, the manager, gave us an honest opinion when we were choosing an itinerary. At reception, Ms Shashi Prabha was friendly and helped us throughout our stay. There were good choices on the food menu, and the staff were very accommodating with our small kids. We enjoyed the tasty SriLankan meals. Thanks to kitchen staff Chaturang, Shyam, Pooja, Kavin and Sabi for preparing such generous meals and helping us so much. Dinner and the other meals were superb, and I really wish I’d had more than one night here. The hotel sits among a tea estate, with a lovely lake and hillside view, though there’s some debris around nearby local houses. My bed was comfy and the water was hot. There’s a TV in the room, which I didn’t use, but no fridge. It’s a bit away from the main business area, though getting a tuk tuk is easy. There’s no lift, so anyone with mobility issues should take that into account. The service was fabulous.

The dining room has a fantastic view, particularly around sunset. Breakfast was great, and the staff were attentive and keen to help. It’s a quiet, peaceful spot, with tea fields behind the property and the lake just a few minutes’ walk away.

Palazzo Lake Gregory was a lovely place for a relaxing trip as a couple. The calm, romantic atmosphere made it easy to enjoy the lake, fresh air, and sunset together. Even though popular attractions are nearby, the property felt peaceful and private. It’s also close to Lake Gregory activities, parks, and other places around Nuwara Eliya, so we could explore without giving up a quiet stay. Our room was spacious, clean, well kept, and had comfortable bedding and modern interiors. Everything was working properly, and the amenities were well provided. The lake view was breathtaking, especially in the morning and evening. Waking up to mist over the water in the cool Nuwara Eliya weather felt magical. We were welcomed warmly as soon as we arrived. Check-in went smoothly, and throughout our stay the polite, caring staff were ready to help and seemed to genuinely care about guests. The hotel is well maintained, calm, and elegant. We enjoyed the food too. There was a good variety, breakfast was satisfying, and the meals were impressive in both quality and presentation. Having them with a lake view made it even better. Palazzo Lake Gregory exceeded our expectations. We had a great time and would love to return. It’d suit couples, honeymooners, or anyone wanting a scenic, relaxing stay.
